Kg Gold Bars

What Is a Kilo of Gold Worth?

A kilogram holds 32.15 troy ounces, so the metal value is the gold spot price multiplied by 32.15 — a six-figure sum at current levels. Add the refiner’s premium, which at this weight is the lowest per ounce of any format, and you have the number.

That low premium is the entire reason kilo bars exist. Fabrication costs roughly the same whether a refiner is producing one gram or one kilogram, so spreading it across 32 ounces makes this the most efficient way to hold gold by weight.

The trade is indivisibility. A kilo bar sells whole or not at all, and the pool of buyers who can absorb one is small. Anyone who may need to liquidate in stages should hold smaller bars instead, and accept the higher premium as the cost of flexibility.

Bars arrive sealed with assay and serial number. Leave the seal intact — at this value it is the fastest proof of authenticity a buyer will accept.
