Each 2021 1 oz Proof Mexican Silver Libertad Coin available in this product listing comes from the proof lineup at the Mexican Mint. The proof coins have impressive visual contrast between the frosted design elements and the mirrored background fields of the coin. The coins in the 1 oz silver weight in the Proof Mexican Libertad collection ship with protective plastic capsules for each specimen.

The 1 oz Mexican Silver Libertad is far and away the most sought-after coin in the series by mintage and is also the most diverse option of any singular weight. While all eight weights in the series offer a BU and Proof option, only the 1 oz silver coin also offers a reverse proof option and an antique option. The highest-minted 1 oz Proof Silver Libertad remains the 1983 release that marked the start of annual coining for this specimen. That year, 30,006 1 oz Proof Silver Libertads were sold.

On the obverse of the 2021 1 oz Proof Mexican Silver Libertad is the Mexican coat of arms. The national coat of arms for Mexico is inspired by a 1541 depiction of an eagle eating a snake on top of a prickly pear cactus. This original design was found on the Codex Mendoza, an Aztec codex that captures a visual history of the Aztec Empire. The modern version of this design is set at the center of the obverse field, with 10 historic designs surrounding it, including the original Codex Mendoza image at the 12-oclock position.

The reverse face of 2021 Proof Mexican Silver Libertad Coins includes the figure of Winged Victory. Shown at the top of the Mexican Independence Victory Column, the statue of Winged Victory was built in 1910 and is a symbol of Mexican independence from Spain. Her figure was placed atop the Victory Column when the latter structure was completed in 1921.
